Holiday Fun

The weekend before Christmas, we made the long trek up north to visit family. I really wanted to see my grandparents. My grandpa is 92 and has had problems from skin cancer. The day before we saw them, he had surgery to remove skin cancer right by his eye. Emmy was so concerned about him the whole time we were there - it was really cute.

Emmy kept hugging my grandpa and patting his hand and leg

And my grandma, who is 89, just loved both girls.  It was the first time she'd seen Kate and she hadn't seen Emmy for at least a year, maybe more.

My grandma thought Kate was adorable.  And I agree :)

It was great to visit with my grandparents.  I don't know how much longer they will be around, so it was nice for the girls to see them and to hear some stories from my grandma.  She loves genealogy and always has so many stories to share.

We also got to go to Temple Square with my brother and his family.  It was great to spend time with them and to see the beautiful lights at Temple Square!  Emmy rode with my brother and his family in their car to the temple.  When they pulled up to the temple, she was so excited and told them that she was getting married in the temple.  Hopefully she'll wait a few years first :)

Grey, Maddy and Emmy.  It was freezing!

The beautiful temple!

Our attempt at a family pic.  Our camera kept dying on us and I didn't have any extra batteries so we had about 5-10 seconds to take each picture before the camera would die.  So this is what I get for not being prepared!

We finished of our trip by having a Christmas party with Jake's family.  We had a great time eating, hanging out and exchanging gifts.  Jake's sister gave us the best gift!  She made, yes, made, one of those antique pictures of the Bountiful Temple (where Jake and I got married).  I love it!  I didn't take a pic to share, but maybe I will later.

Emmy had a lot of fun playing with her cousins.  And now she always tells us she wants to go to Bekah's house (Jake's sister).

All the cousins (minus Austin - he was in the other room.  Oops!)

My girls

Mason and Kate.  They are about a month apart.

It was so great to see everyone!  We are glad we live close to family so that we can visit often!
