Grandpa V

J's grandpa was in the hospital last week. We were in town so we stopped by the hospital to see him. Grandpa couldn't keep his eyes off of Emmy! He was just staring at her, it was so cute. We wanted to get some pics of Emmy with him. We got some good ones! Of course, here she is with her camera face. And then there's one with cousin Bellie. What cute pics!

Camera Face

Lately when I've taken pictures of Emmy, she gets the same look on her face. She scrunches it up and smiles. It is so funny and adorable! And it's only for the camera. What a ham! I posted the video of it above.

Emmy has also been pulling herself up on everything. She is getting so strong. And she's getting so smart. On Friday we were at Jake's brother's house and I was telling them that I've been trying to teach Emmy how to blow kisses but that she couldn't do it yet. Well, every time I would say blow kisses she kept putting her hand to her mouth and was blowing kisses!!! I didn't even know she could do it yet, it was so funny. I got a video of that, too that I might post.

On Thursday of last week, I got to sing the national anthem at a Garden League baseball game. The whole family came and we had a blast. Emmy was chewing on the soda straw and we got a classic picture. Isn't it so funny?

Pageants

Some of you know that I did a few pageants while I was in college. Well this past weekend, I was a judge in our local county pageant. It was really fun to be the one judging, not competing! I felt nervous for the girls but they did great and I had a great time. I met some really nice people and the girl that won will do great at the state pageant.

Here is a pic of me and the other judges.

9 Months Old

Emmy had her 9 month check up today. I thought she was going to have to get some shots but to my surprise, she didn't! I don't look forward to shots at all, so I was glad when the Dr. told me she didn't have to get any. Here are her stats:
Weight: 18.5 lbs (45%) and height: 28" (60%). The Dr. said everything looks great and that she is healthy. That is always nice to find out!

My Dad . . .

For those of you who know my dad, you know how awesome he is. You also know that he doesn't have the best health. Especially lately, his asthma has been really bad. After my parents moved here, they found out that my dad is most allergic to Juniper tree's, which basically makes up 90% of the trees in our town. So this week he is in Denver at the National Jewish Hospital hoping to find something that will help him breathe better. Most people have 100% lung capacity, he has about 20% or so. So please keep him in your prayers! We are hoping they can find something more about his asthma or something that will just help him to function better. These past couple years have been the worst I've ever seen him, although he never lets you know how bad it really is. Good luck this week, dad!!! We love you and are keeping you in our prayers!!!

***UPDATE***

My dad is home from Denver now. The dr's discovered that he has Allergic Bronchopulmonary Aspergillosis, or ABPA. It's a fungus that is throughout his whole body. It's sort of like Valley Fever, if you've ever heard of that. You get it from fungus in dirt, leaves, etc. and it's not contagious. They have him on some steroids and strong anti-biotics. His asthma will never go away but his breathing will hopefully get better. He also found out that only one lung is working. So keep praying for him!!!

New TV

Our new TV!
Caught in the act!
Our pretty armoire

My dad said he'd buy us a new TV as soon as this property that he had sold. Well it sold last month so we went shopping and found the TV. It's a Hi-Def 42' LCD flat screen. We got it yesterday and while we were setting everything up Emmy was having a blast getting into things! It was really cute. She couldn't get into all the equipment before because it was all in our armoire. The only sad thing about the new TV is that it doesn't fit into our armoire. I love our armoire and now I don't know where to put it! It's just over on a side wall, out of the way for now. But for now, we are on the lookout for a new enclosed entertainment stand so that Binga can't get into the equipment.

Binga was also playing in the laundry basket yesterday. What a cutie pie!!! Soon after the pic of her looking over the side, it tipped over and she fell out!

Let's go to the movies . . .

One of my favorite things to do is go see a movie at the theater. Before we had Emmy, we would go all the time. Now we go every chance we get (which isn't that often). Last week, Jake was so nice to watch Emmy while I went to Hairspray with my mom and sis. It was so cute! I absolutely LOVED it!!! But any of you that really know me know that I would pretty much like any musical :)

Then, the same day, Jake brought Emmy to the theater and we saw Transformers. I'm sure it was good, but since Emmy didn't sleep through it like I thought she would, I didn't really get into it. Oh well, what can you do?

Thanks to a babysitter we got to go to another movie yesterday!!! I can't believe I've been to 3 movies in a week and a half!!! We saw The Bourne Ultimatum. It was awesome! If you liked the first 2 Bourne movies, you'll like this one. It was action packed and full of adrenaline, never a dull moment. How I love going to the movies . . .
