Big girl bed

I have a confession to make.  Kate was still in her crib until a few months ago.  It was just too nice having her contained in her crib, not able to get out :)  She has never been a climber, so she never even tried to climb out.  But we knew we would be getting pregnant and thought it would be better to make the switch sooner rather than later.  So the end of April, we did it!

Kate was totally ready to sleep in a "big girl bed" and did so good!  It was a really smooth transition and one that we didn't need to worry about at all.  Never mind the fact that she was almost three when we made the switch ...

Emmy's first {missing} tooth!

April 7th, 2012 was a special day this year.
Not only was it my 31st birthday, it was the day Emmy lost her first tooth!  All day, Emmy kept saying, "I can't believe I lost my tooth on your birthday!"  Seriously, she said it about 25 times - she was so excited that she lost it on my birthday.

This is how it went down:
Emmy was taking a shower (er, playing in the shower) when all of the sudden I hear her yelling that her tooth is gone.  I ran in the bathroom, actually thinking she was maybe teasing me, and there it was - her missing tooth!  One of her top teeth is loose, so I thought maybe that one somehow came out, but it wasn't the top tooth at all, it was her right-front-bottom tooth.  Apparently she had been playing with the wash rag, put it in her mouth, bit down and pulled, when POP!  Her tooth came right out!

Unfortunately, we didn't save the tooth, it went down the drain before we even got there.  So Emmy left a special note for the Tooth Fairy:

"Dear Tooth Fairy,
I lost my tooth today down the drain
Love,
Emmy Malie"

The Tooth Fairy left Emmy a one dollar bill.  She was so excited!

That wiggly top tooth is getting more and more loose - I'm sure there will be more posts about more missing teeth soon!

Pinkalicious

The girls and I had been reading "Pinkalicious" a few months ago.  Have you read it?  Super cute and fun book for little girls.

 Since the mom in the book and Pinkalicious make pink cupcakes, the girls and I decided it would be fun to make pink cupcakes, too!  Although, the girls decided they wanted blue frosting instead of pink - small technicality :)

Random catch up post

In May, we celebrated my dad's birthday at my parent's house in St. George.  Here are some pics:

We have had fun playing outside this summer (on days when mom doesn't feel too yucky - pregnancy!).  We fill up the pool, but the girls will only put their feet in.  I don't blame them, the water is always freezing!

{This girl!  What a little cutie!  And oh so spunky - more on that in another post...}

{Valentine's Day 2012}

For Valentine's Day this year, Emmy needed Valentines to give out at school.  I decided to do the same thing I did last year, but with pencils.  They turned out really cute!  And I made some for Kate, too, because, why not?

And I thought it would be fun to have a little Valentines party with some of the girl's neighborhood friends since Kate didn't have anywhere to pass out her Valentines.  We decorated Valentine boxes, decorated Valentine cookies and handed out Valentines.  The girls had a lot of fun!

News!

So, I'm pretty much the worst blogger EVER!  But I've decided to make a change.  I pledge to be a better blogger!  Since blogging is my way of keeping a family history, I NEED to be better so that I'm not blogging about Valentine's Day in July (which I will be doing).  So lots of posts to come!

In the meantime, I will leave you with some really exciting news - we are expecting baby #3!!!  We are so excited!  I am three months along, due January 27th.  Emmy kisses my belly about 5 times a day.  I have a feeling this baby will have lots and lots of love from his/her sisters.

{Here's a pic of the little peanut!  What, you can't tell what it is?  Looks like a blob to you?  Yeah, me too ...}

For the most part I've felt okay.  I've been a little nauseous and SUPER tired.  But I'm hoping to get some energy back in the near future.  I've still been going to the gym about 5 times a week and plan on doing that until I have the baby.

When I told the girls I was pregnant, they were so, so, so excited!  The next morning, Emmy came running out of her room and excitedly asked, "Did your belly grow???"  I had to explain to her that we still have a while before my belly will get really big.

Here is my first belly photo:

 As you can see, the belly is starting to grow!  And we found out that I was pregnant when I was three weeks along.  I immediately took a "before" picture so that I have a target goal for after I have the baby.
