So tired!

Now how sweet is that?

Kate {2 Months}

Ok, we're switching over to Kate's age in months. No more weeks :) That means she's not a brand new baby anymore! I can't believe how fast she is growing.

Here are her 2 month stats:

- {Weight}: 12 lbs 15 oz (88th percentile)
- {Height}: 23 & 3/4 inches (80th percentile)

She is such a chunker and I love all the rolls!

She is such a happy baby! When you talk to her, she gets this HUGE grin. I love it!

Notice the rolls on her legs?

Kate {8 Weeks}

Has it already been 8 weeks? It seems like just a week or two ago we were bringing this sweet little girl home from the hospital. But it will be 8 weeks tomorrow that Kate Isabella joined our family. She is such a sweet little baby. She is starting to interact with us which is so much fun! I love making her smile and coo!

She's sleeping through the night most nights (goes to bed anywhere from 9 to 11 and doesn't wake up until the next morning around 9:00!) which is a huge thing! The first 5 or 6 weeks were really rough. She'd wake up anywhere from 1 am to 3 am and be awake and fussy until 7 am. Not so great when you have a two-year-old to take care of the next day. And Jake would help me (such a great husband and dad) even though he had to work the next day. So we're doing great now! And she and Emmy take naps at the same time most days (Emmy doesn't always take a nap, I think because she's been waking up after 9 am - how lucky am I? But she has quiet time in her room when she doesn't take a nap). Life is good and we are finally feeling normal again. I've been going to the gym 4-5 times a week and feel great! Got to lose those last 10 pounds of pregnancy weight {plus 10 more for good measure :) }.

Here are some recent (this past week) pictures of Kate:

Emmy absolutely loves and adores Kate

Sweet angel!

This is her getting excited :)

And here is a huge smile!

Family Fun

There is an awesome park just up the street from our house. I love taking Emmy there. There is a little stream that runs right through it that is perfect to splash around in. So we decided to take the kids there on Saturday and have a little family fun! Jake and Emmy played in the water while Kate and I relaxed in the shade. The weather was perfect! It was just the right temperature (I'm so glad it hasn't been blazing hot!) and in the shade it felt great.

Checking out the water

Jumping in!

Kate relaxing on the blanket in the shade. She's such a sweet baby! Everyone tells me she looks just like Emmy. What do you think?

Emmy found some sand, er, mud to play in.

Pickin' Strawberries

My parents grew strawberries in their garden this year. Yummy! My dad wanted Emmy to pick the first strawberry . . .

Emmy loved eating the warm, juicy strawberry that she got to pick!

Emmy and my dad have a special relationship. They are such good buddies and Emmy absolutely adores her Papa . . .

She was helping him in the garden :)

Hiking

Jake and I decided we want to start going on family hikes on Saturdays. It's a nice way to spend time with the family while getting some exercise and having some fun!

We started last Saturday with a hike on the "C" trail. You start at the top of the mountain, where the "C" is in Cedar City. There is a trail that goes all the way down back into town. We didn't do the whole trail because we had to hike back to the top, but we sure had fun! Especially Emmy - she told us she was on a "tiger hunt" so she was looking for tigers and avoiding bugs the whole time. She couldn't help but run down the trail, she was too excited looking for those tigers. This resulted in a couple of stumbles. What can you do? A kid wouldn't be a kid without some skinned knees, right?

Here are some highlights from our hike:

This is the only pic I got of Kate, since I was holding her in my sling. I need to get a little front carrier that I can put her in for hikes. But I {LOVE} my sling, and so does Kate. She usually falls fast asleep when she's in it. My sis-in-law, Sonya, makes these adorable slings. You can check them out at MadelineGreyDesings.com.

This is after Emmy's first fall (you can see Cedar in the background) . . .

. . . and this is after her second fall - look how precious, a little tear is falling down her cheek :)
