My silly girl

The weather has been so great this week! Emmy and I took a walk yesterday to the university (we live about two blocks from SUU) and went to our favorite spot. Emmy loves to dance and run around and she had so much fun being outside. Here are some highlights:

What a sweet little stinker!!!

Emmy started dancing, no music, she just loves to dance! This is pic #1 . . . see below for the next pic in the sequence . . .

Emmy dancing, pic #2 . . . isn't she the best??? Makes me laugh and smile every single day :) Shake those hips, baby!!!

My darling girl. I love that sweet face!!!

DIXIE!

We went to St. George last weekend to do some shopping and go hiking with my sister, Lindsey, and her family. We went hiking up on the red hill and hiked up to the Dixie rock. I hadn't done that since I was a sophomore in high school, so it was a lot of fun! Emmy had so much fun running around and getting dirty. Here are some highlights:

Emmy is waving to Dylan and Ella

Emmy did not want to hold our hands. She was little Miss Independent! But we made her hold our hands up on the Dixie rock.

Us with Linds, Derek, Dylan and Ella on the Dixie rock w/ the temple in the background :)

The kids climbed into a little "cave" in a rock

Emmy LOVED Dylan and Ella's walking sticks! She wouldn't put them down, just dragged them behind her

Jesus?

We were watching last weeks episode of Lost today while Jake was home for lunch. We usually don't let Emmy watch it, but since we were behind we decided to put it on. Sawyer comes on the screen and Emmy gets excited, points at the screen and says, "Jesus!". So, apparently Sawyer looks like Jesus . . . what do you think?

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day!!! We had a great day at our house. We actually celebrated on Friday night to avoid the crowds of Saturday. Jake came home from work with a beautiful bouquet of long-stemmed red roses - he really does spoil me! And he brought home a pretty white rose for Emmy. This has become a tradition. And he's excited because next year he'll get to bring home two white roses, one for each of his girls (he really loves having daughters - he was totally rooting for another girl and he got his wish!). We went to dinner and a movie, "Confessions of a Shopaholic". I was so excited to see that movie. I've read all of the Shopaholic books and they are so fun! The movie lived up to my expectations! And thanks to my parents for watching a sick Emmy, who, by-the-way, is still sick, poor girl. We should be at church right now, but instead we are watching "The Little Mermaid" :)

Emmy with her daddy - she just adores him, and he adores her!

My beautiful flowers!

And I had to end with a little note to my wonderful husband. I really don't know how I lucked out with him! I talk about it all the time with my parents. They told me last week that they couldn't have hand-picked a better son-in-law. He is such a great guy who honors his Priesthood, treats me like a Queen, and treats his little girl like a little princess. We love you so much, honey! Happy Valentine's Day!

It's no fun bein' sick!

This is what the past couple days have looked like at our house:

Princess blankey: Check
Tigger (who Emmy recently renamed "Raja" since she has been watching Aladdin): Check
Jammies: Check
Movie: Check

Emmy had a fever that just wouldn't go down on Wednesday afternoon. She still had it all day on Thursday and wasn't eating or drinking anything so we finally took her to the doctor. We found out she has an ear infection in both ears. So now we have 10 days of ear drops and anti-biotics. So fun! . . . Especially since giving Emmy her anti-biotics involves sitting on her on the floor and forcing it down. She wouldn't even take Motrin when she had her fever. That's probably one of the reasons she had the fever for a day and a half! Luckily, this morning she woke up with no fever. And she had slept through the night! Mommy still needs to recover from the night before . . . not getting to sleep until 5 am takes a toll on a pregnant lady. Nap time, here I come!

Valentine Craft Fun

Emmy and I decided to have some fun and make Valentines! So Emmy painted, put glitter sparkles and heart stickers on the construction paper and I cut them into hearts. We had a lot of fun and now every time she colors she informs me that she's making Valentines.

Carefully putting the sparkles on the paper. She's wearing her Kung Fu Panda shirt - it's her "craft shirt" and she loves wearing it!

Looking at the finished products (minus the heart stickers - the glitter glue had to dry first)

Prayer time

Emmy has been loving to bless the food lately. We'll be in the middle of eating and (even if we've already blessed the food) she'll just fold her arms and say "Heavenly Father", which means we all have to fold our arms, too. Then she says, "Heavenly Father, thank you for food, Heavenly Father, Amen." It's so cute! We don't have to help her with the prayer or anything. I love that she's becoming such a big girl!

Sugar and Spice . . .

We had our ultrasound today and . . .

It's a girl
! We are so excited! And Emmy keeps saying, "Yeah, I'm gonna be a sister!" (even though she already knew she was gonna be a sister . . .)

I have mixed feelings about the 3D ultrasound . . . my baby looks scary!!! Like a skeleton! And my dad told Emmy it was a "scary monster!" Sorry, baby, mommy doesn't think you're a scary monster :)

She was totally stretched out, just look at her leg! She wasn't curled up in a ball, she was stretching, enjoying her space! She's on her belly (all you can see is her leg, though, and maybe some of her little bum. These things are hard to see sometimes . . .)

The Baby Bump - 18 Weeks

I've been meaning to take a Baby Bump picture for a few weeks, and I finally remembered to have Jake take one! This is me at 18 weeks (4 1/2 months):

I've definitely got a bump going. And please don't tell me I don't look pregnant. My tummy is a lot bigger than normal, so when people tell me I don't look pregnant, then that just means that I look like I've gained a bunch of belly chub! :) Plus, I feel like I was sucking in for these pictures so that my belly wouldn't look as big as it really does . . . so maybe I was cheating a little . . . although it is kind of hard to suck a baby in :) So maybe I just felt like I was trying to suck in. Okay, now I'm rambling . . .
