Fishing with Daddy and Papa

Papa got Emmy a Barbie fishing pole a little while ago. We finally got around to going fishing! Emmy got to use her pretty fishing pole, and she had so much fun! That is until she dropped her pole into the lake. We watched as it sunk to the bottom, tears filling Emmy's eyes. She was so sad! Luckily, Ella's Princess fishing pole was in the boat, so Emmy got to resume her fishing, which involved dangling the fishing line in the water :)

Here are the highlights:

Papa helping Emmy become a pro fisher-woman!

Papa has taught all the grandkids to kiss the fish before throwing it back in the water. Emmy did it, but the camera wasn't fast enough to take the pic so I missed it!

Daddy keeping up the tradition of kissing the fish :)

Daddy and Papa caught lots of fish, and Emmy was such a great helper!

Let's go fly a kite!

Jake helping Emmy get the kite up. Isn't Cedar City beautiful?

A couple of weeks ago we let Emmy pick out her very own kite. She picked a Barbie kite and she loves flying it! We've only been out to fly it a couple of times, but she loves holding the string and running around with the kite.

Emmy is getting to be such a "big girl," wanting to do things all by herself. I'm glad she's getting more and more independent, since the baby is coming, but I just can't believe she's already two and a half! She has made being a mommy so wonderful (and challenging!). I never knew I could feel this fulfilled in life. Of course, life isn't perfect (who has the "perfect" two year old? Want to swap for a day???). She's been testing her limits with me, getting away with as much as she can, but life sure is fun!

Here are some highlights of our latest kite-flying extravaganza:

She didn't want any help holding the string!

What a cute girl!

Sprinkler fun!

Last week the weather was so nice! At least at the beginning of the week . . . We never know what the weather will bring. We decided to take advantage of the beautiful sunny day.  Emmy and her friend, Max, had some fun in the sun with Emmy's Nemo sprinkler! It shoots out water while it spins around.  What could be more fun than that?

Emmy and Max running through the water.  Max didn't really like getting wet that much so most of the time, he was doing this:

Holding the sprinkler so it wouldn't spin and get him wet!  What a funny boy :)

Fun in the snow!

The weather has been so crazy lately!  One day we go to the park because it's warm and sunny, the next we're playing in the snow.

Lindsey and the kids came up to Cedar last weekend and the kids bundled up and had fun in the snow!

Here are some highlights:

Emmy kept running up to throw a snowball at me, then she'd laugh!

We tried to stage a picture w/ all the kids, but Emmy was not happy to be taken away from her snowball throwing fun

Ella threw a snowball at her own face, and then started panicking because it was so cold.  What a funny girl!

My silly girl

The weather has been so great this week! Emmy and I took a walk yesterday to the university (we live about two blocks from SUU) and went to our favorite spot. Emmy loves to dance and run around and she had so much fun being outside. Here are some highlights:

What a sweet little stinker!!!

Emmy started dancing, no music, she just loves to dance! This is pic #1 . . . see below for the next pic in the sequence . . .

Emmy dancing, pic #2 . . . isn't she the best??? Makes me laugh and smile every single day :) Shake those hips, baby!!!

My darling girl. I love that sweet face!!!

A day at the zoo!

Last week when we were in Salt Lake, we decided to take Emmy to Hogle Zoo. We met some friends there, Ammon, Tasha and Izzy, and set off for an animal adventure! We had a lot of fun but it was blazing hot!!! Emmy's poor little cheeks were so red. We saw a bunch of animals, rode the carousel and the train. Funny story: Emmy started picking up garbage off the ground when we got off the train. A man that worked at the zoo came up to us and gave us a free ride on the train since Emmy was helping out! What a great helper :) And, of course, she and Izzy had a lot of fun getting wet and playing with the big stone water ball.

Looking at the elephants
Family pic in front of the big elephant. It makes these loud elephant noises - Emmy loved it!
Right before riding the carousel
Emmy got to ride on the panda - she was so excited! She kept saying "panda! panda!" She loves pandas ever since we took her to see Kung Fu Panda.
She wasn't too happy about getting off the carousel
Riding the train and sucking all the germs off the rail - yuck!!!
The poor red cheeks!
Playing at the water ball w/ Izzy (in the pink tank top)
Getting her hands wet! It was a nice way to cool off after walking around in the 100 + degree heat!
