Adventures in Babysitting!

Well, I've gone from one child to three overnight! My sister and her husband went to San Francisco for a week and I volunteered to take the kids. She has a 7 year old and a 3 1/2 year old, plus my 6 month old. I'm going to see what life is like if I had 3 of my own! I'm brave, I know, but I think it will be fun. So far so good, 1/2 day down, 6 1/2 more to go! If I'm alive at the end, I'll let you all know how it went :) Jake has finals this week so it was a good week to be gone. My sis lives 45 min. away and since Dylan is in school I have to stay at her house until Friday. Then we'll join Jake at home. What an adventure!

Updates on us

I have some cute new pics of Emmy that I wanted to post. Just a quick update on all of us: Jake is soooo happy because finals are next week and then he's done with his first year of college - yahoo!

Emmy is doing great, despite her cold. She's eating solids - she likes her rice cereal and she's tried sweet potatoes, which she likes, and today she tried carrots, which she also likes. I think she'll be a good eater! She's going crazy rolling over and we're working on her sitting up all by herself. Currently, she sits really well with the support of the boppy, but occasionally she'll fall on her face :( You'll see this in one of the pics.

Michelle is doing great, just having so much fun taking care of Emmy! Motherhood is so great, I couldn't ask for anything more!!

Boise

I had the best weekend! My old roommates from Ricks and I had a reunion in Boise (one of the girls lives there now). There are 7 of us and among the 7 of us there are 7 kids, so there were 14 there in all! We had such a blast! We stayed at Ashley's house and hung out, ate, talked about old memories, went to the zoo and just had a great time. Emmy did great on the plane both ways. I was a little nervous about it but she did really good! And I think she had a fun time making new friends :)

Cute Binga!

I just had to add some more pics of Emmy. This was after church yesterday. She is so cute!! And we went to the Clarke County Fair on Saturday and I sang at it, so I added a little pic of me performing. And a cute pic of Jake and Emmy. She is getting more fun everyday!

What did I do!?!?!?

Ok, so I work a couple times a week for a couple of hours and I have a friend that usually watches Emmy. Yesterday, her little boy wasn't feeling well so I decided to just go up to work while Emmy was taking her naps (I live in the basement of the office where I work). I took the monitor upstairs with me and made sure that I put a new battery in it. Emmy woke up after I had been at work for about 30 min. but she was just kind of talking, not crying so I decided to leave her until she started crying. Well, she got quiet and I thought to myself "good, she went back to sleep". She had only slept for 30 min. and it would be good if she got a little more. Well, about an hour later I was helping someone at my desk, I glance over at the monitor and it was dead!!!!!!!! I freaked out. I had to excuse myself, I grabbed my purse and I RAN downstairs as FAST as I could! I was about to start bawling when I was unlocking the front door. I ran into Emmy's room expecting to find her screaming . . . but she was fine, just playing and talking to herself. I felt so bad!!!! I couldn't believe the monitor had just died! It was my biggest freak out moment! The lady that I work with said that when I was running out the door my face was bright red . . . I was so sick with panic!!! Anyways, that is my freak out moment. I hope it never happens to any of you moms!!! It was so scary!

Happy Easter!

It's a few days late, but I wanted to say Happy Easter and post a cute photo of Emmy on Easter Sunday. Jake insisted on getting her an Easter basket even though she can't eat the candy. So we got her candy (that Jake and I happily ate) and Jake had to get her a Disney movie (it's so cute, he wants her to have them all!) so we got her Cinderella.
