Poor Binga!

Emmy hasn't been feeling too great latelty. First, she's pretty much been teething for the past 7 months. She's already got 12 teeth! She has her 4 baby molars and then the 4 front teeth on top and 4 front teeth on bottom.

She's also been scratching herself all over. She's got eczema on her legs, but she started scratching her head, too. My first thought was, "Oh crap, she has lice!!!", but after a quick examination I was relieved that it was not, in fact, lice. Phew! So finally after a week of scratching, I took her to the doctor. We found out she's got eczema all over her body! It was just little patches that we couldn't see. So sad!!!

And after a quick exam, the doctor also informed us that she has her first ear infection . . . in both ears. Again, so sad!!! We were so focused on her scratching that I didn't notice her tugging her ears or anything (she was scratching around her ears, so that's what I noticed, not any tugging). So this week, we are focused on getting her better!!! No soap in her bath, just a little shampoo to wash her hair. We need to get rid of this eczema! And, of course, anitbiotics for the ear infection. My poor baby! I do have to admit that I love the fact that she has been so cuddly!

I am so sorry. Both my kids have eczema so bad, its a curse from me, I still have it, and this Utah weather. I have a cheap solution, the Walmart brand of Eucerin. Its only $4 compared to $16 and its exactly the same, and its thick. As soon as she gets out of the bath patt her dry and while she's still wet rub it all over and then put her clothes on immediately. It will soak in and help a ton. Good luck. I am so sorry, no fun.

Poor little baby. Gabriel had like 3 or 4 ear infections before he was even one! And I breastfed him the whole time. Aveeno is great for eczema.

Ah man!! That's a lot to deal with. It's so hard because they can't talk to us. I always feel so bad when Audrey is sick. But I like the cuddliness too. One day we were both sick and just lay in each other's arms all day watching TV. She is NEVER that still, so even though I felt sad for her, I loved it.

Binga sounds like she could be one of my babies. 2 of the 3 have had tubes put in their ears because of ear infections and all 3 of my kids have mild eczema. We prefer the cetaphil lotion in a tub. You can get it at costco for $10. It seriously is a miracle worker. If I put that on my kids every time they get out of the bath. It works great.

Poor girl. If only they could speak to us about their aches and pains. I do agree it's sad to see them sick, but so fun to cuddle them. My little Izzy never cuddles, the two times she's been sick were a special treat. For my two cents about eczema, my dermatologist told us mineral (baby) oil when you are still wet and have not yet toweled off. I thought, yucky what a grease ball, but it actually doesn't make you greasy. Anyway, good luck!
