Citizenship!

Jake FINALLY found out that he will become a citizen on May 21st!!! Hip hip hooray! It's been such a long process, we are both just so excited. Emmy and I get to go and see him get sworn in. It will be a great day! I'm already planning a trip to Mexico . . . (:

Happy Birthday to me!

My birthday was this past week and I just have to say I had a GrEaT day, thanks to my wonderful family!

I have such a wonderful husband who will do ANYTHING for me - I'm so lucky!!! I really like photography so he got me a new camera! I'm so excited to learn all about it so I can take some awesome pictures! It's a Canon Powershot SX100 IS. Doesn't it look nice? Stay tuned for some pics from this baby.

My sister got me this charm bracelet from Lea Sophia - I LOVE it!

And I'm anxiously awaiting a gift card from Joann's from my sister-in-law.

And my mom went way overboard, of course, and got me some much needed new clothes!

Thanks to my family for such a great birthday!

Citizenship!

Some of you know that a year and a half ago, we found out that Jake was not a US citizen. That's right, total shocker! The weird part is that he's voted, he has a social security number, everything.

Here's the story: He was adopted from Chile when he was 6 months old and just assumed he's been a citizen his whole life. We applied for passports in 2006 and that's when we found out Jake wasn't a citizen. It turns out his parents didn't take all the steps they were supposed to for him to become a citizen when he was adopted (his brother is also not a citizen but one of his sisters is in the process of becoming a citizen, too). So, since that time, we've been taking all the steps that need to be taken for him to become a citizen. Today he had his final interview/test and . . . he passed! Now he just has to be sworn in. What a relief to almost have this behind us! Now we can go to Mexico together - finally!!! If we can just find the money to go . . .

Congrats, Jake!!! Here's to becoming a US Citizen!

Vegas, Baby!

Jake and I celebrated our wedding anniversary this year in Vegas. We had so much fun, the only downside was that is was way too short! We stayed at a condo so we had a full kitchen and it was pretty nice.

We went to a movie (which we hardly ever do!) and did some Christmas shopping. We also went to the strip and went to the Bellagio. We saw the water show and went to the Bellagio Conservatory and Botanical Garden. It was all decorated for Christmas and was so pretty!

This was made of all flowers and plants

At the water show again! (Please keep in mind that my coat adds on at least 50 pounds! It's a puffy coat and I look chubby in this picture!)

Emmy stayed with my sister and had so much fun with her cousins! We missed her but had a great time sleeping in two days in a row!

Birthday Girl

The day Binga was born

Emmy's First Birthday is this month. I can't believe it has been a year already! My pregnancy seemed to drag on FOREVER, but once she was here it has just flown by.

I gave her a cupcake to dig into but I think most of it ended up on the floor
She wasn't shy about rubbing the frosting ALL OVER herself!
Especially in her hair

Her cousins, Maddy and Grey, gave her this unicorn. She absolutely loved it. She just started hugging it and carrying it around with her after she opened it. Thanks, Mads, for picking out the perfect present!

Happy Birthday, Emmy! We love you so much! You have made our lives so exciting. We never knew we could have so much joy! Who knew our lives could be such an adventure!
