Happy Memorial Day

We had a blast Memorial Day weekend! On Friday night, we had my dad's 60th birthday party. He's getting old, man! We were all there and had a really good time. My mom had it catered by Famous Dave's BBQ (yum yum! Love their cornbread muffins!) and we had it at a park. It was fun!

On saturday we went up to Park City with my sister and her family and stayed until Monday. We were supposed to stay at this really nice condo called The Westgate. It was one of those timeshare presentation things but we were going to be able to stay for $25/night. We made our reservations back in February. So we showed up, went to the timeshare presentation and THEN they tell us they are all sold out, there's no vacancy!!!! What, they couldn't tell us before and spare us the pain? We were like, um, we made reservations back in February and this is the whole reason we came up here! They told us the reservations were based on availability when we got there. Bums! We were so mad!!! I said that that would have been nice to know at the time I made the reservation! They told us we could come back another weekend but we told them, no, we actually couldn't. They ended up putting us up in a different hotel (which stunk because it wasn't as nice at all) and giving us two $50 gift certificates. One for the spa and one for the restaurant. So we had dinner and I got a massage all on them :)

But we had a fun time despite the disappointment. We went down the Alpine Slide and they also had an Alpine Coaster (kind of like a roller coaster but you control how fast you go. It was really fun!). We went swimming and shopping and we just had fun! We love it up there.

There was this bike/walk path by our hotel so we went for a little walk and there was a little creek right next to the path. It was so pretty!

On our way home, we drove down Provo Canyon and stopped at Bridal Veil Falls. There were a ton of people hiking up it, I wished we were able to do that but we weren't equipped for it with the baby. I want to hike that someday. It was beautiful! Hope you all had a great Memorial Day weekend!

6 months old!

Emmy is 6 months old! It's crazy how the time flies! I still feel like I just had her! She is eating veggies, fruits and cereal now (she had applesauce yesterday and today and LOVES it!). She can sit up by herself and is putting her feet in her mouth. She started grabbing at her feet a few weeks ago, but just today she discovered she can actually put her toes in her mouth! I was getting ready to put her in the bath when she started doing it so I had to run and get my camera to take some pics. I thought it was so cute! Also, on Mother's Day we were at my parent's house and she started pushing her face into the ground and going up on her toes, it was totally funny! And Emmy helped Jake make me breakfast on Mother's Day. It was so cute I had to get a picture of it!

She had her 6 month check-up this last week and weighs 16 lbs 4 oz (65th %) and is 25 1/2 inches long (50th %) so she's slowed down a little in her growing, but she's still a total chunker!

So, I've been checking Emmy's gums a lot lately just to see if any teeth are coming in. I was kind of waiting for her to get fussy with a runny nose and red cheeks but it never happened. But last week I was just rubbing her gums and I felt something - it was her first tooth! It's her bottom left one. Let's just hope she doesn't start biting me . . .

On a sad note, Emmy's been sick :( We took her to the doctor and found out that she has croup. It's so sad! I didn't get much sleep last night - I'm hoping tonight is better!

I survived!

My sister and her husband came back from their trip last night and . . . I'm alive!!! I survived a week with three kids! I'm not gonna lie, the first couple of days were pretty hard and I thought maybe I just want one kid. But then I sort of got the hang of it and decided I might be able to handle three :)

One day while Dylan was at school, Ella and I were painting. I had to go to the bathroom and when I came back, Ella had painted her arm blue!!! So I had to include a pic of that. I can't believe what kids can do when they're left alone for a few minutes! And Dylan LOVES Nacho Libre and my friend's husband has a mask like on the movie so he put it on and I had to take a pic. He was quoting the movie while he had it on, it was so funny!

It was a good week and I had fun spending time with my sister's kids. And I think Emmy liked it, too. She got a lot of attention from her two cousins. But now it will be nice to go back to the slower life that we're used to!
